Fireplace and stove installation, using supplemental heat to save on heating costs! After recently moving into my new home and with rising energy costs, I thought long and hard regarding ways to save on my heating costs this year. My solution? A fireplace! There are several different types of fireplaces to choose from and it’s important to chose the right one. While wood burning fireplaces and stoves are still available. The cost of firewood has steadily increased over the years and many feel it is no longer cost effective to burn wood as a source of heat. There are many different fireplace and stove technologies available today which are much more cost effective. A popular choice among those with a gas utility servicing their homes would be gas fireplaces or gas stoves. However, there is hope for those of you without a major gas utility! Electric Fireplaces are becoming more popular and have advanced greatly over the years in terms of efficiency. Personally, I used Blaze Supply ( http://www.blazesupply.com/ ) to help me with finding the right fireplace for my needs. The installation was very professional and looked great after they left! I chose to go with gas as it was ultimately more cost effective considering high electricity costs where I live. Blaze Supply had a large selection of gas fireplaces and gas stoves. They also carried a wide range of electric fireplaces for those who don’t have gas service. I mostly work from home while my wife and kids are away at work and school all day. So now I sit by my newly installed gas fireplace, all nice and toasty. while our central heat is completely turned off during the day! By doing so I save, on average, $80 a month on heating costs.
